Caleb & Marisa Duttweiler
Before serving with East Mountain Caleb and Marisa lived in Atlanta, GA, where Caleb taught third grade and Marisa worked for a communications agency. Caleb grew up in Dakar, Senegal and Marisa in Tokyo, Japan.
They are excited to be in South Africa and to bring their passions and skills into this vibrant, Christ-centered community. They will provide logistical support, listening ears, and a peaceful, loving and structured environment for the residents and interns as house parents in addition to their involvement with other ministry partnerships and programs.

Rodney and Kathy Duttweiler helped to co-found East Mountain after spending over twenty years serving in Senegal and leading missionary teams in West Africa. With every conversation they are intentional, and their gentle leadership emulates the East Mountain model of life-on-life discipleship.

Ronn & Aladrian are a powerhouse couple that bring highly skilled professional experiences in couseling and leadership development and a positive, faith-filled attitude that shapes the East Mountain ethos.

Mark & Marcie, together with their sons Dylan and Caleb, have an integral role in the life of the EM Community. Mark brings years of training and experience in Spiritual Formation and Marcie's authentic, fun-loving spirit adds a sense of play and adventure to EM's activities.

Bouwer & Carlien Van Niekerk
Bouwer, Carlien and their children: Bouwer Jr and Carolina,has been part of the East Mountain family since 2013. Bouwer is one of the founding directors of East Mountain South Africa and works in the financial sector. Carlien does East Mountain’s bookkeeping.
Abbey & Servaas Hofmeyr
Abbey helps coordinate the Residency programme, focusing on spiritual formation, theological education, and mentoring. As former resident advisor, Servaas remains involved in community life while working full-time as a marketer in a Stellenbosch-based tech company. Servaas and Abbey love engaging in conversations around theology and culture.

Lindsay Shifflett
Lindsay came to EM South Africa in 2018 as a resident with the goal of receiving long-term exposure and experience in overseas ministry. She graduated from Biola University with a Bachelors in Intercultural Studies and a minor in Biblical Theology, and has engaged with discipleship, relief work, and refugee ministry in places like Mexico, Scotland, Macedonia, and Nepal. She is currently working on a Masters in Human Services Counseling from Liberty University while serving on the East Mountain communication team.
